German-Chinese Esplanade – the bamboo buildings
bamboo pavilions on tour through six megacities

Design of six central city squares and parks with 17 different pavilions as object buildings made of bamboo for the presentation of Germany in China - a three-years-project in 2007 until 2010 of the government of the Federal Republic of Germany in the six megacities Nanjing, Chonggquing, Guandong, Shenjang, Wuhan and Shanghai (Expo 2010). The idea behind the temporary design and alteration of the city squares in those megacities is the examination of the urban and living spaces according to the issues and the city visions of the Germany Esplanade.
