German-Chinese Esplanade I Arrangement of a place with different buildings and pavillons for the presentation of Germany in China - a three-year-project of the government of the Federal Republic of Germany. On 19 October 2007 the first German Esplanade (Deutschlandpromenade) started at the Daxinggong Place in Nanjing in the province of Jiangsu as a German-Chinese cultural encounter. In the center of interest stands the public area which is experienced as an overall project because of the artistic-architectural design concept.
